Travelling to London with children should feel exciting, not overwhelming. At The Drey, we make family stays simple, comfortable, and perfectly connected to some of the city’s best museums for young explorers
Located just a minute from Earl’s Court Station, our hotel gives families easy access to interactive museums, hands-on exhibitions, and unforgettable experiences across London.
Whether your little ones are fascinated by dinosaurs, transport, science, ships, or creative play, London is filled with museums designed to inspire curious minds, and many of them are completely free to visit.
Natural History Museum
One of London’s most iconic family attractions, the Natural History Museum is always a favourite with children. From the famous dinosaur gallery and giant blue whale skeleton to interactive science areas and earthquake simulators, there is something exciting around every corner. Best of all, it is only a short Tube ride or even a walk away from The Drey.
Science Museum
Perfect for children of all ages, the Science Museum combines learning with play through interactive galleries and hands-on experiences. Younger children love the Pattern Pod play area, while older kids can explore Wonderlab, gaming exhibitions, and space exploration displays. It’s an ideal rainy-day activity for families visiting London.
Young V&A
Creative children will love the Young V&A in Bethnal Green. Designed especially for younger visitors, the museum focuses on imagination, play, and design. Interactive exhibits, workshops, and colourful creative spaces make it one of the best museums in London for families looking for something different.
London Transport Museum
Located in Covent Garden, the London Transport Museum lets children step inside historic buses and Tube trains while learning about the story of London’s transport system. The interactive All Aboard play zone is especially popular with younger children, making it a fun and educational day out.
National Maritime Museum
If your family enjoys ships, pirates, and sea adventures, the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich is a wonderful option. Children can explore hands-on galleries, interactive play spaces, and family-friendly exhibitions while parents enjoy one of London’s most beautiful areas.
British Museum
For families with older children, the British Museum offers an incredible journey through world history. Interactive family trails, activity backpacks, and regular workshops help bring ancient cultures and fascinating artefacts to life in a way children can enjoy.
Horniman Museum and Gardens
For a slower family day, the Horniman Museum combines exhibitions with beautiful gardens, picnic spaces, and an aquarium. It’s a fantastic choice during spring and summer and offers plenty of space for children to explore freely.

March brings a change in pace. Lighter evenings. School holidays in sight. A little more room in the diary for time together.
At The Drey, family stays are about keeping things simple, so you can focus on what really matters.
Shape Travelling as a family does not need to feel complicated.
Set in Earl’s Court, just moments from the station, The Drey gives you easy connections across London while keeping you somewhere calm to return to at the end of the day. No overplanning required.
From the very beginning, The Drey was designed with families in mind. When creating the rooms and shaping the brand, the idea was simple: make it easy for families to stay together comfortably, without the need to book multiple rooms or navigate complicated layouts.
Our family rooms reflect that thinking, allowing everyone to share the same space while still feeling comfortable and relaxed.
The Nest for 4 sleeps four with king-over-king bunk beds, generous space, premium mattresses and an ensuite with a walk-in shower. Add compostable coffee pods, vegan Gabar toiletries and soft towels, and sharing a room still feels thoughtful and comfortable.
For larger families or groups, The Warren for 6 offers spacious bunk-bed sleeping for up to six guests, the same premium mattresses, quality linen and a layout designed so everyone can stay together without feeling crowded.
For families who prefer a little more separation, connecting rooms are also available, offering flexibility while keeping everyone close by.

At The Drey, mornings are unhurried by design.
No queues. No rush. Just the freedom to ease into the day from your base at 1 Barkston Gardens, right in the heart of Earl’s Court.

Earl’s Court is made for wandering. Tree-lined streets, local cafés, and everything within easy walking distance. As a Drey guest, you can enjoy exclusive discounts with selected local partners, just another reason to keep things local and simple.
If you feel like stretching your legs a little further, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are just a pleasant walk or a short tube ride away. Morning light, open paths, and a space to breathe before the city fully switches on.
For a culture-filled start to the day, the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and Victoria & Albert Museum are all close by, perfect for an unhurried visit before the crowds arrive. This is our kind of morning.
Local. Easy. Unrushed.
